Rosemary’s Baby is the most frightening movie that I’ve ever seen.
Not because it is graphic in its gore, but rather because it pulls back the curtain on human malfeasance and the nauseating and horrifying gaslighting and lying and betrayal that necessarily accompanies it.
I mean, who the hell wants to live in a world in which your own loving husband agrees to impregnate you with the spawn of Satan just to further his acting career?
And in which every single “trusted” person in your surrounding circle save one… lies to you and minimizes you and then gathers round to worship your little Satan baby?
No one.
No one wants to live in that world.
