Just pour water on it bro! Illusions and Fires
I don't mind assholes as much as I mind arrogant assholes
Images That Look Like Two Things
Ambiguous images, also known as reversible figures, are optical illusions that can be perceived in more than one way. They exploit graphical similarities and other properties of visual system interpretation to create images that can represent two or more distinct forms. Here are a few examples:
Duck-Rabbit Illusion: This image can be seen as either a duck or a rabbit. It was first published in a German magazine in 1892 and later used by psychologist Joseph Jastrow in 1899 for research on perception. The time it takes for a viewer to see both the duck and the rabbit can indicate creativity levels.
Rubin’s Vase: This illusion shows two white silhouettes facing each other or a black vase. It was created by psychologist Edgar Rubin around 1915 and depends on how the brain interprets the “figure” and “ground” in a two-dimensional setting.
Old Lady and Young Lady: This is a famous face illusion where the image can be perceived as either an old lady or a young lady. The mouth of the old woman is the necklace of the young woman, and the nose of the old lady is the chin of the young lady.
Father and Son: Another face illusion where the image can be perceived as either a father and son or a single figure. This type of illusion often involves complex patterns that can be interpreted differently based on the viewer’s focus.
*editor’s note: this one I cannot see 🤨
These images demonstrate how perception can be subjective and how the brain can interpret the same visual information in multiple ways.
On that note.
When a highly motivated reasoner does not like the specific focus of a talking point, say…types of FIRES and extinguishing methods…they try angrily to change the focus of the discussion.
“The reservoirs were empty!”
“Homeless people!”
“Democrats!”
Great!
I too like to sing about dancing!
May we try to patiently build block by block observable phenomena, piece by piece?
Not so much?
Much like viruses and disease, some people bigly know about fire.
Sage Viewer Mail:
“This is so dumb I can’t even believe it. Once shit like houses (made of wood and all types of combustible stuff) start burning, you have a regular chemical reaction fire - which is what is happening whenever anything is burning (ya know - flames). That chemical reaction process will continued until there’s no more combustible fuel or insufficient oxygen (which is why pouring on water or other fire retardants works).”
Kitchen fires are a daunting occurrence that can happen to anyone. The risk of a fire starting on your stove, in your oven, or other cooking surfaces is always present regardless of whether you're a culinary expert or someone who occasionally dabbles. Grease fires are notorious for their ability to escalate rapidly among the various types of kitchen fires. These fires are made more dangerous when, in panic, someone uses water to fight it. Watch the video below that shows how a minor flare up can turn into an explosive emergency when water is added to the mix.
The fundamental mistake many make when confronted with a grease fire is attempting to douse the fire with water. It’s a natural first response but you must fight it! This approach is highly dangerous and makes the fire significantly worse. The water will instantly vaporize upon contact with the high temperatures of the fire and expand rapidly. This propels the burning grease into the air and will cause the fire to spread dramatically. The small kitchen fire is now an explosive inferno that can lead to more severe fire injuries or even a full-scale house fire that you can't control.
Now this seems like a more humble offering.
Class-C, electrical fires, have to be smothered with CO2 or chemical agent. Once power is removed, you can use water since it is no longer an electrical fire.
Metal fires, Class-D (titanium, aluminum or magnesium) are much worse. They burn hotter, longer, and can't be extinguished by water. They burn underwater too - You need chemical foam.
A burning EV is tough to put out, you start with an electrical fire that transitions to a metal fire.
Careful. Those flying embers have demonstrated that they can melt hoods off cars.
Just like always.
So I wrote this post back of brain, but it occurs to me that what hebbbens is the Scorpions know how to make you see ONE and only ONE image (analogy) when they coordinate and run Operations.
They give each ice cubed media denizen a clean cut narrative that confirms their world views and suspicions.
And the other image embedded hides in plain sight.
The End.
The chin of son is the nose of father.
