Starting in January 2020, I started getting sick. Kind of like a cold. For some reason, I thought, onions! I started eating a slice of raw onions each day. I just had this feeling that it was gonna help me fight this sickness. I was at work and apologized to my office mate saying, “I’m eating onions to fend off this sickness, so sorry.” I was the only one in the family that didn’t get severe COVID. Well, we’re pretty sure what they had was COVID. Symptoms matched yours, and other people’s, but there were no tests. Went to the urgent care, and the doctor said, “well, it’s not pneumonia but I don’t know what is.” At the time, we thought he was useless. In hindsight, we’re soooo thankful!! Cured that with nigella sativa in milk. Later shown to be nearly as effective as ivermectin. We didn’t yet make the connection back to onions.
Fast forward several months. India COVID is just starting to go nuts, but Pakistan had no issues. The bbc and others were puzzled. At first I thought it was sanitation differences. But when I asked a Pakistani what they heard from family back home, they said the only thing they keep hearing about is… raw onions. Whoa… Pakistan still rates quite well in terms of COVID stats.
I’m not a doctor, nor am I a biologist, chemist, etc. I have no idea if onions help. But I mean….. look at all this anecdata. It’s at least as robust as the jab trial data, amiright?"
Many many yrs ago, I'd read a study where scientists had cut an onion in half, placed in a dish, and set ii near patients with bacterial pneumonia. Long story short - After a few days, the patient recovered and when they'd tested the onion, it was full of the bacteria causing the pneumonia. Since then, whenever my children were sick, I did the same- set a cut onion in their room. (That, or garlic. They both work the same). Anyway, they always seemed to recover faster.
I, and many ppl I know, do the same to remove odors in their home (i.e.. fish fry, smoke, etc). The onion smell does fade after a cpl days but continues to absorb odors. Some garlic or a dish of vinegar can be used as well. Very effective.
When I was down with the not a virus, i think I only ate cheese nips and that Liquid IV drink mix powder. Lost a lot of weight, but just wasn’t hungry.

Same. But for me it was the flat pretzel thins and water. Couldn't get enough water. Lost a ton of weight too, which I couldn't afford to do.
