A couple of thoughts/questions...often, when you buy land in places like this, you do not own the mineral rights in the 1st place. Had that experience in NE Pa. ( Disconcerting that newly-formed Homeland Security was 'monitoring' the locals who questioned fracking.) The other thought...having lived on northern Cape Breton Island, tropical storms in Fla/Carolinas would pick up speed once they were over the water again, drop speed as they made landfall, but pick up tremendous speed as the wind funneled through the hills. Flooding is, of course, an additional danger.
Crichton wrote a book called State of Fear which no one picked up because it's not about dinosaurs. He spelled out how weather and minds would be manipulated in the future. Then he died too young.

Might be a weird northern hemisphere thing? Down in the (global) south, our cyclones lose energy the second they go feet dry. Coasts can cop it bad, but inland it is usually just heavy rain and some wind as it breaks up and weakens.
Yes! She is volunteering on a local farm to deliver food and water to people in need. It is giving her a sense of purpose and she also gets to stay on the farm where they have food and water and a generator to pump the water up from the well.

A friend of mine, who is a pretty good older ultrarunner, she and her husband got jabbed together. He had blood clots in his legs, even though he cycles 50-75 miles a week, and she just can't seem to run very well and struggles to recover from long runs, feeling dead for days after. Weird.

I have been known to flood a yellow jacket’s nest to force them to find a home elsewhere, but also catch and free houseflies
An advantage yellowjackets have over honeybees is they can sting many times before dying. Hoping for an indian summer.
