Sushi is my all time favorite food. That said like all seafood (I used to joke that I have some sort of iodine deficiency) the quality depends on preparation, sourcing and freshness. Wasabi is a natural antiseptic as is gari (pickled ginger) that should be served with the meal. It's also a good decongestant. I sometimes wonder why all of this effort is put into isolating the active ingredient from these foods. Shouldn't these things be consumed in their whole forms?
